Senior Accounting Associate (Boston, MA)

Senior Accounting Associate needed for a leading advisory firm. This role will be responsible for providing high level review and accounting services. As well  as developing an understanding of the client’s business, anticipating and addressing client concerns.

Responsibilities:

  •  Identifying tax planning for clients.
  • Prepare tax returns with minimal supervision and minimal errors.
  • Review moderately complex returns prepared by others, identifying issues, errors, omissions and planning opportunities.
  • Provide tax advisory services to the clients.
  • Communicate engagement needs to the client.
  • Recognizes extended services opportunities.
  • Keep current on professional announcements.
  • Proactively participates in professional development opportunities, i.e. Mentoring Program.
  • Creative positive impression with client by exhibiting professional competency and ability.
  • Perform compilations and reviews for clients in various industries.
  • Project manage one or more client assignments simultaneously with effective use of project management techniques and organization of resources to ensure achievement of assignment objectives.
  • Perform a detailed review of the assignment team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain and reconcile multiple ledgers for businesses
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and organize client records
  • Prepare and review work papers to adequately document work performed and support conclusions reached.
  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with client management and peer client levels.
  • Some local travel to client locations required

Requirements:

  • B. S. degree in accounting, finance, or similar; CPA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of accounting and/or tax experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting systems including Excel and QuickBooks. Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate and direct a team of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer service approach when building and maintaining client relationships.
