Our client is an independent valuation firm with a 30 year track record-a full service appraisal/financial advisory firm that provides expert opinions on the valuations of business, equity and debt securities, intangible assets, and other property as well as providing sophisticated transaction services in the form of fairness opinions and solvency opinions.

These valuation roles will administer independent valuation services for BDC’s, Hedge Funds, LP’s and Private Equity Firms. Role performs necessary valuation, review prospective offering documents, assess current market and financial conditions, advise and prepare reports/documents with direct client contact. The ideal candidate should have concentrated valuation experience with expertise in various valuation methods (income/market approaches, option pricing, waterfall), investment research, financial modeling, financial statement analysis, reporting writing & Fair Value Accounting as well as strong experience with fairness/solvency opinions.

The Group offers deep expertise in understanding and valuing complex financial instruments and derivatives (including various debt and equity structures such as embedded derivatives, convertible debt securities, relative TSRs and other share based compensation programs, SWAPs, CDOs and CLOs) for financial reporting purposes, tax and regulatory compliance, transaction support, capital investor requirements, and corporate strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform valuations of complex securities such as options, warrants, convertible bonds, contingent considerations and preferred and common stock in privately-held companies. These valuations could be under ASC 718, ASC 805 or ASC 820.
  • Provide financial advisory services in connection with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts and public and private financings as well as for financial and tax reporting purposes.
  • Render financial opinions with respect to valuation, fairness and solvency.
  • Perform valuations of businesses, equity and debt securities, loans, derivative instruments, structured products and intangible assets.
  • Perform detailed due diligence including site visitations, management interviews, review of strategic alternatives and legal documentation as well as business, financial, industry, and market research and analysis.
  • Construct and maintain sophisticated, scenario driven financial and valuation models including analysis of financing alternatives, cash flow and IRR analysis, LBO/debt repayment analysis, accretion/dilution analysis, sum-of-the-parts valuation, discounted cash flow valuation, comparable public company valuation, comparable merger and acquisition valuation, loan pricing and derivative pricing.
  • Monitor certain economic, industry, capital market and company trends and developments.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial analyses and reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration or another related field. CFA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • A broad, in-depth knowledge of Portfolio Investment Valuations
  • Thorough understanding of valuation theory and practice.
  • Ideal candidate has a working background within a Big4 Accounting firm, sell side research OR valuation firm.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients through periodic conversations and meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration or another related field. CFA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5 years experience, and prior experience managing small teams of analysts.
  • A broad, in-depth knowledge of Portfolio Investment Valuations
  • Thorough understanding of valuation theory and practice.

Real Estate Senior Structured Products Analyst (NYC or Central NJ)

Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a candidate with heavy quantitative skills. The candidate will be responsible for supporting valuation services: specifically complex financial instruments. They will perform analysis and review model functionality, evaluate, and document the methodology employed, assumptions used and conclusions reached. The ideal candidate will have experience valuing structured products as well. They will be responsible for presenting valuation concepts to institutional clients which consist of hedge funds, private equity, pensions and endowments and financial institutions.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in math, physics or engineering from an accredited college/university. MBA and/or CFA is strongly preferred.
• Strong background with Structured Products and/or REITS experience required.
• Excellent ability to understand real estate from a financial perspective, from either a REIT or structured product standpoint.
• 5 years plus experience with options/derivatives valuations
• Exposure to structured credit asset classes like CMBS or CLOs and/or CDOs
• Experience with RMBS analysis is a plus
• Modeling experience with Intex
• Some familiarity with other market data applications such as Bloomberg is essential

5 years plus experience with options/derivatives valuations

Bachelor’s degree in math, physics or engineering from an accredited college/university

Experience in stock compensation
