Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of valuations for closely held or publicly traded companies with a focus on the alternative investment space
  • Interact with hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, and limited partner investment and finance officers on the valuation of investments
  • Build new and update existing financial models including diverse valuation methods, such as discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and allocation models
  • Perform analysis on financial and economic data, subject companies, guideline companies, industries and markets, and other types of fund and investment analysis
  • Prepare valuation and other types of reports and presentations
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, Capital IQ and other application and data providers

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business from an accredited college/university
  • A minimum of three years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, valuation, financial statement analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical sampling and econometrics, fixed income, and/or capital markets
  • Possess advanced finance, financial modeling, accounting, and analytical abilities
  • Strong work ethic, ability to multitask, presentation, problem solving and organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently

 

 

Location: NYC

Salary: $80K-$110K range Plus Quarterly & Year End Bonus

Private Equity Accountant, Senior Associate, Associate Manager and Manager (NY / NJ)

Our Client is looking for highly motivated Private Equity Accountants with outstanding skills in the fund administration arena for their Union County, NJ and New York offices.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain all financial data in the investment database
  • Post all journal entries and prepare monthly trial balance reports
  • Reconcile all cash received from investors and investments
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Calculate capital calls and distributions
  • Allocate income to partners in accordance with terms of partnership agreements
  • Prepare and issue quarterly financial statements, in accordance with US GAAP for each entity
  • Maintain and update investment data (number of shares, location of securities, country of origin)
  • Interact with clients and provide information as needed

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • CPA and/or MBA are strong pluses
  • 2+ years related experience in fund accounting preferably within the Private Equity field
  • Strong knowledge of Bloomberg, financial reporting and financial products (ie: equities, futures, fixed income)
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Prior experience training, delegating tasks, and reviewing work is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to interact with

Location: New York / Union County, NJ

Salary: Up to $75K plus bonus

Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor’s Degree In finance or Similar. MBA Preferred.
  • CFA / CPA / ABV / CMA preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, valuation, financial statement analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical sampling and econometrics, fixed income, and/or capital markets
  • Advanced finance, financial modeling, accounting, and analytical abilities
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently

The practice is seeking an entry – mid-level real estate securities valuation professional. Position will be responsible for assisting in growing real estate valuations group, you will need to fundamental real estate valuation concepts with complex real estate securities analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on clients, competitors, industry, and capital markets, including but not limited to valuation multiples, property price indices, comparable ratios, credit spreads, and demographic trends.
  • Preparation of market research reports
  • Build, modify and utilize financial models for discounted cash flow, guideline market multiple, market transaction, fixed income and option valuations.
  • Perform valuation analyses on companies and their securities across the real estate sector.

Requirements:

  • Recent Grad – 5 years relevant real estate work experience, particularly with exposure to the investing in or valuation of debt and equity securities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related. MBA preferred but nor required.
  • CAIA / CFA designation a plus.
  • Advanced, working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with Bloomberg, Intex, CoStar, Argus, Compass Analytics and/or REIC is a plus.

This role will primarily perform valuations of various investment securities for hedge funds and other investment companies. Such securities consist of illiquid investments such as bank loans, subordinated debt, and preferred and common equity in privately-held companies, as well as structured products and other unique securities.

Responsibilities:

Conduct research on client, competitors, industry, and capital markets, including market multiples, comparable ratios, and credit spreads.

Gather and document pertinent data obtained through client interaction.

Build, modify and utilize financial models for discounted cash flow, guideline market multiple, market transaction, fixed income and option valuations.
