Our client is seeking a Systems Administrator. to support both internal and external users in a trading environment. The Systems Administrator will configure, maintain, and support new and existing Windows, Mac OS desktop and server environments to insure best quality in technical operations. They are seeking a proactive, hands-on individual with great networking and desktop support skills to take on full ownership of the support needed.

Key Responsibilities

Set up remote access for users

Administer multiple node network including firewalls

Support networked printers and photocopiers

Orientation and training of new staff

Upgrades system by negotiating hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors

Developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.

Maintains computing environment by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, monitoring system performance.

Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.

Troubleshoot and provide permanent solutions to computing issues locally and firm wide

Facilitate workstation and datacenter moves

Research creative systems solutions for business needs

System performance tuning

Assist with support calls  / trouble shoot problems

Configure, maintain and support new and existing Windows and Mac OS desktop and server environments to insure best quality in technical operations

Position requirements

In depth knowledge of Windows XP or Windows 7 and Mac OS, SCCM 2007, Hardware swap-outs (video cards, drivers, monitors), Voice Over Internet Protocol, Basic Understanding of Network-client server connectivity, Active Directory user and group management, Racking servers, VPN and Video conferencing (Specifically Life-size/Creston). Linux knowledge and Visual Basic Scripting are a plus. 

5 years’ experience as an Administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies.

Proficiency with communication devices (iPhone), servers and desktop technologies

Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously

Exceptional communication, verbal and change management skills

Ability to accept ownership of different projects and accomplishing new and different requests

Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business administration; supplemented with one or more courses in current technology

2012.12 – Technical Analyst – Client Support

Individual’s primary responsibility will be for deployment, implementation and support of our client’s Energy and Financial  Trading and Risk Management systems. This position requires exceptional organization, communication, planning, and technical skills along with the ability to manage client expectations. Proven ability required to quickly solve complex technical skills issues covering all facets of project and software lifecycles. Technical skills range from understanding SQL language, JAVA, .NET scripting, infrastructure design, and relational database design/administration. Sales support (RFP responses, on-site sales demonstrations) as well as additional tasks will be required to support products and clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel 25%

Proven track record of strong client-facing skills

Strong analytical, presentation, writing, communication and problem solving skills

Ability to self start and work independently and in a team setting

Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems

Solid understanding of software deployment, i.e, dills memory management, paths

Working knowledge of database structure, design, SQL language

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Working knowledge of Energy and Financial market concepts

Understanding of Windows and LINUX (32 and 64bit) operating systems

Solid understanding of network/IT infrastructure, i.e., multicasting, server class hardware
