Financial Analyst (NYC)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports/presentations for senior management with detailed and insightful analytics.
  • Analyze expenses and explain variances against different scenarios (budget, reforecast and prior years).
  • Research and analyze data in order to provide recommendations around efficiencies and cost savings opportunities.
  • Provide support around planning cycles and financial close processes.
  • Provide analytics around CLIENT’s field expenses
  • Liaise with Corporate business partners (Human Resources, Finance, IT) around department’s management expenses
  • Prepare and analyze expense related reports (both on a recurring & adhoc basis).
  • Support department managers around their budgets and meeting their targets.
  • Support the department teams in monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Support the preparation of annual expense budgets and adjustments to via reforecasting
  • Process various journal entries, forms, payments, accruals, etc. required to keep expenditures, organization and the system hierarchy’s accurate.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting Business Administration or another related field is required. Masters Degree and/or CFA Designation (or CFA candidate) preferred.
  • 6-8 years of finance/accounting experience, specifically with a minimum of 3 years in expense management and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to create professional reports and presentations
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
  • Strong Excel skills (macros, V-lookups, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team environment and support multiple business partners
  • Strong knowledge of financial analytics, budgeting and reporting
  • Experience using Essbase, Smartview and PeopleSoft

Location:  NYC

Salary: Base $70K-$80K

Responsibilities:

Manage and deliver valuation services in the Life Sciences or Pharma Industries. Rendering financial opinions with respect to valuation, fairness and solvency. Performing detailed due diligence including site visitations, management interviews, review of strategic alternatives and legal documentation as well as business, financial, industry, and market research and analysis.  Constructing and maintaining sophisticated, scenario driven financial and valuation models. Continually monitoring certain economic, industry, company trends and developments. Preparing and presenting detailed financial analyses and reports. Conducting business development and support including prospecting for new clients and leads, preparing and presenting marketing materials as well as scoping, pricing and negotiating assignments. Supervise, mentor, and facilitate the development of consulting skills for staff including valuation principles, communication, time management, and client product delivery.

Requirements:

* At least five years of relevant experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business* CFA or ASA required

* Experience in the Pharma or Life Sciences verticals

* Prior Management experience required

* A thorough understanding of valuation theory and practice.

* Superior written and verbal communication skills, solid analytical skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment

Senior Associate – Valuation & Portfolio Analysis (NYC)

Our client is a top asset management firm with offices around the world. Our Client provides a broad range of investment and advisory services.

The valuation and portfolio analysis team manages the quarterly private equity valuation process, prepares portfolio performance analysis, supports business development and marketing initiatives, and is involved in various strategic initiatives including (but not limited to) financial forecasting.  The team is based in Our client’s New York office and is supported by an offshore team.  The assistant vice president will report directly to the valuation and portfolio analysis team leader.

Responsibilities:

Analyze data and materials related to fund and co-investment portfolios across 300+ legal entities;

Prepare and analyze various investment track records for business development, marketing, client-specific requests, and management;

Prepare and analyze revenue, carried interest, and expense forecasting;

Review quarterly co-investment valuation information;

Analyze fund investment valuations provided by managers and prepare summary information;

Maintain fund and co-investment watch lists summarizing underperforming and challenged investments;

Generate portfolio construction models/analyses and cash flow models;

Perform complex data management and analysis including investment portfolio analytics and investment modeling;

Manage multiple projects/requests simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met; and

Perform various ad-hoc and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

5+ years of relevant experience, including an understanding of valuation approaches and methods;

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;

Master’s degree in Business, Finance or Economics preferred;

Professional certifications preferred: CFA or CPA;

Exceptional MS Excel skills with the ability to build macros;

Demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis;

Ability to develop financial models including building models from scratch;

Alternative Investment sector experience;

In-depth understanding of investment performance, assets under management, asset allocation and risk exposure strongly preferred;

Experience working with offshore teams preferred;

Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines; and

High energy level with strong work ethic and flexibility to work long hours at times to accommodate special client needs.

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $100,000 – 110,000 Plus Bonus
