Valuation Associate (NYC)

Our client is an independent valuation firm with a track record-a full service appraisal/financial advisory firm that provides expert opinions on the valuations of business, equity and debt securities, intangible assets, and other property as well as providing sophisticated transaction services in the form of fairness opinions and solvency opinions.

 

This is a mixed position that will assist in both Complex Assets & Financial Reporting Valuation

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or related field with a demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis. MBA preferred.
  • 2-3 years  valuation experience in Complex Securities and/or Financial Reporting
  • Experience in
    • ASC 718
    • 409a
    • Earn Outs
    • Goodwill Impairment
    • Options and warrants
    • PPAs
    • Tax / Financial Reporting Valuations
  • Ability to work on multiple engagements
  • Experience working at a valuation firm or at an accounting firm in a valuation practice
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Strong technical skills including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Strong proficiency with on-line databases (Capital IQ) and Internet research of company specific, industry and economic analysis
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Valuation credentials, or pursuit of such credentials, a plus (ASA/AM, CPA/ABV, CVA, AVA, CFA)

Sr. Associate – Alternative Investment Valuations (NYC / Los Angeles)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of valuations mainly consisting of a alternative investment activities.
  • Build new and maintain existing financial models including but not limited to discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and allocation models
  • Analysis on financial and economic data.
  • Preparation of of reports and presentations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or similar.
  • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, valuation, financial statement analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical sampling and econometrics, fixed income, and/or capital markets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Senior Associate – Valuations (NYC)

The Senior Associate will be involved in many aspects of financial valuation and advisory services to a variety of clientele. Specifically, they will report to the head of the firm’s transaction and advisory practice, the Senior Associate will manage sell-side and buy-side M&A activities and fairness opinion services.  In addition they will be responsible for advisory and valuation engagements to analyze potential liquidity options available to middle-market companies.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years experience

Direct current experience in ASC 350/805  (Goodwill Impairment) a must

Strong writing and presentation skills; experience preparing and reviewing valuation reports

Strong technical skills including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills

Strong proficiency with on-line databases (Capital IQ) and Internet research of company specific, industry and economic analysis

Strong oral and written communication skills and superior analytical capabilities are essential.

Must have quant skills and be familiar with financial modeling

A degree in Finance is required. An MBA and/or CFA (or CFA candidate) are also preferred.

Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 + Bonus
