Staff Accountant – Private Equity (NYC)

Our client, a multi-billion dollar New York-based investment adviser is seeking a staff accountant to join their team. The position will facilitate data collection and entry relating to Fund and Direct Investments in order to maintain efficient workflow and data analytics relating to Investment tracking and Accounting information.

Responsibilities:
Download and save Investment communication and documents into the PE document management system
Maintain login IDs and passwords for third party Investment websites to facilitate extraction of documents
Read and interpret Investment communications to facilitate transactional and valuation data entry into PE investment tracking system and Excel
Assist in running reports, performing reconciliations, troubleshooting and data analytics
Identify and correct any data entry errors and manage data integrity
Gather information and set up templates for prospective and new Investments in PE investment tracking system
Meet strict deadlines for Monthly & Quarterly reports
Respond to ad hoc reporting requests
Assist in special projects / requests

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 1 year fund administration experience.
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to interact with others at various levels
Detail oriented with a strong work ethic

Senior Accountant – Private Equity (NYC)

Our Client, a Multi-Billion dollar investment advisory is seeking a Private Equity Accountant to join their team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review accounting and reporting for various funds and other entities which may include but no limited to journal entries, waterfall calculations, loan repayment, capital statements, etc.
  • Preparation of Capital Calls, Distributions, Capital Statements and Financial Statements
  • Filing ADV and PF and organize information as necessary for SEC examinations
  • Monitoring cash activity which includes review of daily cash need
  • Prepare quarterly and annual valuations as well as various investment reports
  • Assisting with process control narratives
  • Prepare/review payment of various invoices and allocations
  • Preparation of year-end audits and response to requests in a timely fashion
  • Assisting with management company accounting, cash management, invoicing, quarterly reporting, and journal entries
  • Prepare supporting schedules for annual tax returns

 

Liaising with auditors, tax preparers, custodians, banks, investors, and general partners’ finance team is important.

 

Sr. Accountant may also need to assist with any other special projects that may arise. You will also need to be proactive in streamlining current processes.

 

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5 years related experience in public/fund accounting preferably within a Private Equity setting
Strong knowledge of financial reporting
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to interact with others at various levels
Detail oriented with a strong work ethic

Salary: $90 – $125K + 30-40% Bonus
