Responsibilities

  • Performing bookkeeping services for clients including, but not limited to, recording of transactions, preparing adjusting journal entries, preparation of trial balances, depreciation schedules and monthly, quarterly or annual reconciliations.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual federal and state payroll tax returns and annual Form 1099s
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures.
  • Gathering data for tax return preparation and maintaining client tax files.
  • Preparation of federal and state individual income tax returns.
  • Preparing federal tax form 1041 primarily related to trusts, inputting of partnership K-1’s brokerage activity, and related.
  • Preparation of simple to moderate form 1040
  • Assist professional staff in preparing workpapers, trial balances, depreciation schedules, entering data for computer applications and preparing engagement correspondence.
  • Gathering data for tax return preparation and maintaining client tax files.
  • Completing month end work (track payment of federal, state and local tax estimates, review G/L detail to be sure sufficient information is provided for preparation of year-end returns.)

 

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Accounting and/or working towards Bachelors degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience in public accounting, corporate or private business.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, bookkeeping and tax preparation services.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, QuickBooks and/or Peachtree.
  • Experience with individual income tax preparation is a plus.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically.
  • A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills fostering client relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.

Our Client, a Multi-Billion dollar investment advisory is seeking a Private Equity Accountant to join their team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review accounting and reporting for various funds and other entities which may include but no limited to journal entries, waterfall calculations, loan repayment, capital statements, etc.
  • Preparation of Capital Calls, Distributions, Capital Statements and Financial Statements
  • Filing ADV and PF and organize information as necessary for SEC examinations
  • Monitoring cash activity which includes review of daily cash need
  • Prepare quarterly and annual valuations as well as various investment reports
  • Assisting with process control narratives
  • Prepare/review payment of various invoices and allocations
  • Preparation of year-end audits and response to requests in a timely fashion
  • Assisting with management company accounting, cash management, invoicing, quarterly reporting, and journal entries
  • Prepare supporting schedules for annual tax returns

 

Liaising with auditors, tax preparers, custodians, banks, investors, and general partners’ finance team is important.

 

Sr. Accountant may also need to assist with any other special projects that may arise. You will also need to be proactive in streamlining current processes.

 

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
3-5 years related experience in public/fund accounting preferably within a Private Equity setting
Strong knowledge of financial reporting
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
